The original Potsdamer Platz was once a junction, which became one of the busiest intersections in Europe after the construction of the Potsdam railway station. The square was severely damaged during the Second World War. On the boundary lines of the American, British and Soviet sectors and divided by the Wall, the area became a no man’s wasteland right in the heart of the city.
After the fall of the Wall the area around Potsdamer Platz became one of the largest building sites in Europe. From 1993 to 1998 a whole new quarter was created right here with shops, hotels, apartments and restaurants, a Stella Musical Theatre, a casino, cinemas …

Kollhoff Building with Panorama Platform
